We believe that the number of love songs in the world far outstrip the number of things one can fall in love with. So we, The Black Velvet Band, are doing our very best to readdress the balance, penning twisted dirt-folk about sex and death. That's what it comes down to in the end. Stories about leaving your lover, cheating on your lover or dispatching your lover in a myriad of gory ways. It's strangely beautiful - but not very. Expect to hear growly narratives spat out over dissonant chords played on various beat-up guitars, banjos, mandolins, basses, lapsteels, drums, glochenspiels, harmonicas, synths and spoons. Heavy, hairy and (mostly) in harmony.
